Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.”

- Ernst F. Schumacher

To reduce any sense of overwhelming complexity and evolve as a much more user-friendly platform for web push notification, iZooto has been going through a lot of changes recently.

With the recent launch of the updated API to target individual users, Audience Builder, Campaign Scheduling and iZooto WordPress plugin, we are adding few more updates to this web push platform. Today, we are thrilled to highlight these changes that iZooto has gone through to ensure that it’ll be an even better experience for all those who are already a part of iZooto team and much more who’ll be joining soon.

Check out the following latest feature updates at iZooto.

Enhancing End User Experiences

1. Timezone Selection

We recently rolled out local time zone based push notifications. This feature enabled you to drill down all the time zones that your target audience belongs to and  schedule a campaign according to their time zone. Read more here.

But, none of you as our consumers, were able to choose and modify your own time zone anything different that IST (which was the default timezone for all our users). To make it easier we now capture your relative time zones at the time of registration with iZooto web push. Not just that, you can also edit your time zone later on under ‘My Profile’ section.

  •  Login to your iZooto Dashboard >> Click on ‘My Profile’ to move to the next page.

  1. Configuring the Subscription  Prompt

For web push notification, every time a new user visits your website, a subscription  prompt is triggered. More than often, multiple prompts in the same browsing sessions are an irritant. his was coming out to be rather pushy. We always had it under our radar and finally this has been fixed for once and for

Starting today, you can configure two simple things:

  1. Define a time interval post which new  will be prompted for consent. For Example- you choose to prompt the users after they spend 10 seconds on your website.
  2. In addition to this, you can also specify a ‘Repeat Time’ for your prompt  to appear again for your users. What happens once you have chosen the ‘Repeat time’ for your prompt? If the users move to a different web page, the consent prompt will not reflect until the repeat time defined by you. You can opt to define the repeat time as per the number of days, hours and even minutes.

This is how you can set this up-

  • Head to Settings >  ‘General Settings’ ’from the drop down menu.

  1. Platform Support for Notification

iZooto web push notification allows you to engage your users on multiple platforms to engage and retain users. To extend this support, you can now focus on a particular device on which you want to engage your target audience with your notifications. You can choose to enable your notifications on mobile or  desktop (or maybe both) and this will be applicable to all your push campaigns.

There will be times when you would want to focus only mobile users, for those instances you can disable notification on desktops and vice-versa and this feature at iZooto will definitely help you in that.

Follow these simple steps to use this feature for your notifications-

  • Click on ‘Settings’ from the left side menu.
  • Click on ‘General Settings’.
  • Under the section of ‘Notification Settings’ choose the devices you want your push notifications to be enabled on.

  1. TTL with Auto-hide Notifications

In addition to the platform support, another feature under ’Notification Settings’ includes TTL (time to live). Here you can monitor the user interaction duration for your web notifications and your users. You can set the TTL by switching on the ‘auto-hide’ feature for your push notifications. Enabling this will automatically hide your notifications after 20 seconds if no interaction has taken place between the user and the notification. Your notification will disappear from your user’s device without getting dismissed from the user’s end.

Setting up the TTL-

  • Click on ‘Settings’ from the left side menu.
  • Click on ‘General Settings’.
  • Under the section of ‘Notification Settings’ enable the auto-hide feature to make your notifications disappear after 20 seconds.
